The inspiration for this blog novel has been the il-2 campaign VMF-214 by David Humphrey. The storyline depicted in this novel does not necessarily follow the event as depicted in his campaign.
If you have Il-2 forgotten battles and Pacific Fighters, I recommend downloading this campaign. I sure had fun flying and writing about it.
